Let’s take a look at what’s new on Matador, shall we? First I point you in the direction of The Double
from the Big Apple. Hints of Interpol scatter the surface at
first listen, but there’s much more art here. Go to their very
innovative site to
check out and stream some older Mp3’s, but if you want a sneak peak of
their upcoming release on Matador called The Air, check out Simple Mission’s post here.
The following are excerpts:
The Double : Idiocy
The Double : Up All Night
The Double : Dance
Another favorite of mine, who I appreciate more away from Pavement is Stephen Malkmus. There was a big July 4th celebration at Battery Park called God Bless Matador where he shared the stage with Yo La Tengo and Laura Cantrell. Missed his performance at the Fillmore, cannot forgive me self.
Stephen Malkmus : Jenny & The Ess Dog
Stephen Malkmus : The Hook
Stephen Malkmus : Us
Stephen Malkmus : (Do Not Feed The) Oyster
Stephen Malkmus : Baby C’mon
